Six developing countries – Sri Lanka, Morocco, the Philippines, Guinea, Ethiopia and the Togolese Republic – are using an Aadhaar-like, open-source system to provide digital identities to their citizens. The platform was built by the International Institute of Information Technology, Bengaluru (IIIT-B), a non-profit headed by Infosys cofounder Kris Gopalakrishnan.
