Data Free Flow with Trust (DFFT), a proposed guiding principle for international cooperation on data flows, is moving into the implementation phase. DFFT implementation has so far focused mainly on trade agreements, including e-commerce negotiations at the WTO and regional/bilateral FTAs. Recently, these developments have been complemented by more pragmatic and bottom-up approaches.
