National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Signs $4.5 billion Data Service Contract

On 18th March 2022, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency announced that it had awarded a contract of up to $4.5 billion over the next ten years to General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), its User Facing and Data Center Services contract.

The contract will provide an abundance of services like hybrid cloud services, IT design, engineering, implementation, and operations to the agency. These services will improve NGA's geospatial intelligence capabilities and support its global users, according to the company, by providing a full range of enterprise services across application services, high-performance computing, unified communications, virtual desktop, DevOps, platform-as-a-service, and mobile secure wireless services, across agency locations worldwide.

In addition, the contract will support the IT backbone of its new campus, 'Next NGA West' in St. Louis, Missouri.

In a statement, Amy Gilliland, GDIT president, said that they are proud of the longstanding partnership with NGA and are looking forward to this opportunity to continue to leverage their portfolio of innovative technologies and services to advance the geospatial mission.
