The Idaho State Police in the USA redesigned their Crime in Idaho dashboard1, allowing the users to access and explore data within the Idaho Incident-based reporting system, which is the state’s repository of data on criminal incidents. The data is shown in charts and maps with the trends on victimization rates visible.
The dashboard currently features data on drug and alcohol offences and a crime against people. More categories like sexual violence, crimes against property and society, and intimate partner violence will be added soon.
The dashboard upgrade was done by the Idaho Statistical Analysis Center and Idaho State police: Bureau of Criminal Identification. It enables the users to access crime data from 2005 to 2020 on the Tableau-based interactive dashboard. It will help criminal justice agencies, local enforcement, and media quickly see customized data or area trends.
